The PSSC is sponsoring a workshop with premier pastel artist Richard Mckinley in March of 2015!
The workshop will be divided into two sessions, one for beginner and one for advanced artists.
March 21-23, 2015, Redondo Beach, California.
3-day Pastel en plein air and studio geared to beginner painters.
This beginner workshop will focus on the fundamentals of pastel landscape painting. Composition, value relationships, and color harmony will be discussed. Techniques will cover a straight forward alla prima approach as well as dry underpainting and wet pastel underpainting approaches. There may be a couple of spots still available.
March 25-27, 2015, Redondo Beach, California.

The advanced workshop will focus on a variety of creative underpainting techniques and compositional orchestration. It still has openings available.

The class size is 18 for each class. Richard Mckinley uses multimedia board, and Wallis sanded paper as well as a huge assortment of pastels both hard and soft. One would need watercolors and a variety of medium large brushes to do the underpainting.
